Biography

Tara Young is an experienced museum professional, writer, and content developer. She has taught Museum Education for K-12 Audiences in the Tufts University Museum Studies program since 2010. Currently an independent consultant, Tara has held leadership positions at several museums on both coasts. Most recently, she served on the founding staff of the Museum of Russian Icons, in Clinton, Massachusetts. Tara has degrees in the history of art and architecture from Harvard College (BA) and the University of Pittsburgh (MA), and a Certificate in Nonprofit Management and Leadership from the Institute for Nonprofit Practice at the Tisch College of Civic Life at Tufts. She is the author of So You Want to Work In a Museum? (Rowman & Littlefield and the American Alliance of Museums, 2019) and the editor of Creating Meaningful Museum Experiences for K-12 Audiences: How to Connect with Teachers and Engage Students (Rowman & Littlefield and AAM, 2021). Tara lives in Central Massachusetts.
